Indications:

Major depressive episodes (MDD)
Panic disorder with or without agoraphobia (PD)
Social anxiety disorder (social phobia/SAD) 
Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD)
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
Acute and maintenance treatment of MDD in adults and adolescents 12-17 yrs. Acute treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) in adults.                                                                                                                                                                                         

Dosage and Administration:

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
You can take escitalopram with or without food.
Swallow the tablet with some water. Do not chew them, as the taste is bitter.
Do not change the dose of your medicine without talking to your doctor first.
Continue to take escitalopram for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop your treatment too soon, your symptoms may return.

Contraindication:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Concomitant treatment with non-selective, irreversible monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO-inhibitors) is contraindicated due to the risk of serotonin syndrome with agitation, tremor, hyperthermia etc. 
The combination of escitalopram with reversible MAO-A inhibitors (e.g. moclobemide) or the reversible non-selective MAO-inhibitor linezolid is contraindicated due to the risk of onset of a serotonine syndrome. 
Escitalopram is contraindicated in patients with known QT-interval prolongation or congenital long QT syndrome.
Escitalopram is contraindicated together with medicinal products that are known to prolong the QT-interval. 
Concomitant use in patients taking pimozide is contraindicated
